breve descrizione: Questa installazione è parte del più ampio ciclo dal titolo I’ve already been here basato sul senso di solitudine esistenziale nella città di New York, un luogo ibrido in cui da ogni parte del mondo migliaia di persone affluiscono ogni anno in cerca di fortuna, portandosi dietro sogni e ricordi. Apt #102 cerca di riflettere su cosa resta di tutte queste persone quando se ne vanno. L’opera si sviluppa in un intero edificio residenziale attraverso tutti gli ambienti comune e in un appartamento rimasto temporaneamente vuoto, in cui sono visibili poche tracce del passaggio dell’inquilino precedente, come le impronte dei mobili sul pavimento o l’eco di qualche ricordo (un lavandino capovolto che gocciola fino ad allagare la stanza cancellando ogni cosa). Queste tracce sembrano congelate un attimo prima che spariscano per sempre, perché esse sono l’unica cosa che la maggior parte delle persone lascia in città.

brief description; This installation is part of a larger project called I’ve already been here. It is a cycle of works centering around the sense of solitude in a city as New York, where every year thousands of people goes to find their luck. They bring with them dreams and memories. Apt #102 attempts to reflect on what remains of all these people when they leave. The work is developed in an entire residential building, through all the common areas and in an apartment temporary empty. Inside the apartment the few traces of the old tenant - are visible. There are the imprints of the furniture on the floor and some echo of a memory, like a sink upside down, dripping and slowly flooding the room, erasing everything. These fading traces look frozen a moment before the disappear forever, because they are the only thing that most people leave in the city.
